01 / Experience
Time between nature and the stars.
From the lookout you can quietly watch forest wildlife and, after dark, observe the night sky. When conditions permit, the visit can include a private astronomy session and a presentation of the PRIM watch that reached the stratosphere during the ‘PRIM into Space’ project.
The journey can begin on the historic Kozí dráha railway, aboard the local train running between Děčín and Oldřichov u Duchcova.
02 / Before you arrive
Authentic observation in the forest.
Access is uphill over uneven forest terrain. Sturdy footwear and reasonable fitness are recommended. After dark the area is completely unlit, so visitors receive two torches.
The nearest toilet is at Penzion U Zeleného stromu, approximately 900 metres away on foot. Snow can make access harder in winter. The reward is genuine calm, the sounds of the forest, a chance to spot local wildlife and a sky free of intrusive lights.
